Adoption: Promises of Love

After knocking his forehead, Luo Ruixi crawled over to Luo Yi, supporting himself on the floor, his upper body leaning straight toward Luo Yi. Luo Yi watched Luo Ruixi’s face come closer without flinching or dodging, and before he understood what was happening, he felt a wave of moisture on his cracked lips.

“A kiss of apology.”

Pulling away from Luo Yi’s lips, Luo Ruixi whispered, “I’m sorry.”

Gently pressing his lips together, Luo Yi released the clothes he was holding and stood up. The scars on his body were still glaringly obvious, making Luo Ruixi feel a deep pang of heartbreak once more. This time, Luo Yi didn’t avoid his gaze. He walked into Luo Ruixi’s embrace, grasped his collar, lowered his head bit by bit, and then, mimicking what Luo Ruixi had done earlier, kissed him.

“A kiss of forgiveness.”

With a serious expression and unwavering eyes, he said, “I forgive you.”
