Mortal Agent of a Vampire - Chapter 14

I happily complied, “You don’t seem to be in a position to accuse me of meddling.” I walked over to him and bumped him with my arm.
Vince flashed an imperceptible smile, “Can’t have someone else doing shit on my turf.”
Still weaseling, but I wasn’t going to expose him as we walked out together. And then saw the scene.
A tall, skinny, tall man waited for us in the empty parking lot, the dim glow of the streetlights focused on him.
I’d never seen anyone dressed so ostentatiously, probably because I never watch stage shows. He was wearing a pair of red and blue vertically striped pants so tight I could see the outline of his ass, a long black and white striped suit hung loosely on him with no shirt underneath, and a chunky gold necklace circled his neck three times. I was terrified that the next second his neck would be too heavy to break. His hair was platinum blonde, secured into a bang with a lot of hairspray, and his bangs blocked the left side of his eye. His cheeks were also long and lean, and his skin was very pale to the point of being transparent. Let’s put it this way, if Vince was defined as an aristocratic elite type of white, then he was a goth rock type of white.
With one hand in his pants pocket and the other stuck around Liz’s neck, he held her up in mid-air as if he were carrying a chick, and underneath his pointy, sequined leather shoes, a young man, Nellie I guessed, writhed in pain. It was such a unique pose that I almost couldn’t resist pulling out my cell phone to take a picture and post it on Facebook.
“Hello Vince,” he waved a hello, “How long has it been since we’ve seen each other?”
“It hasn’t been that long since I’ve seen you.” In conjunction with Vince’s cold tone, the words were more than a match for a knife.
The tall, thin man let out a sound similar to a screaming turkey, “How could you hurt me like that?” He covered his heart.
“Sue me.” Vince gave a gentle smile.
The tall, skinny man burst out laughing, “Your jokes are always right up my alley, Vince,” he gave up the pretense, sadly, he would have come so close to winning an Oscar, “But you may be disappointed, I didn’t come here to pay you a special visit today ……,” he swiveled his right eye and his eyes fell on me, and at those slender cat eyes, I couldn’t help but get chills and move a step behind Vince, “…… and your little human friend.” The tall man shook his head, “No, some other time.”
”Said like I’d welcome you. No, never.” Vince calmly rejected him, “Now, drop my guest and get out.”
Vince said this like a capricious tyrant, and anyone who valued their life couldn’t help but do as he said.
Except for this tall skinny guy, “Your guest?” Lutz repeated, looking down at Nelly, “Why didn’t you tell me that you stopped by Vince’s house, my sweet boy? Wasn’t it I who opened the door to eternal life for you and taught you all that is good in the world?”
Looking at Nellie’s twisted expression, even if I couldn’t read minds, I knew he wanted to curse right now, but Lutz increased the force on his foot and all Nellie could do was gasp for air, “Let go of Liz ……,” he squeezed through his teeth.
“Puberty!” Ruiz sighed and turned back to Vince, “Thank you for your hospitality, but it’s getting late and I’m going to pick up my good boy and take him home, and maybe give him a little lesson, let’s say a spanking.” He leaned down, picked up Nellie by the collar and took a step forward, then stopped as if he suddenly remembered something, “You’re not going to stand in my way, are you?”
“I’m not your child anymore, pervert!” Nelly finally breathed easier as he punched and kicked, “I’ve decided to join Mohammed’s tribe!”
“No, you won’t, good boy.” Ruiz laughed cruelly as he dragged Nelly in front of him, sticking out his pointed tongue and licking his face.
“Looks like we have nothing more to say.” Vince shook his head.
A fight started without warning.
Vince suddenly disappeared from my side. He rushed at Ruiz. It’s actually quite inaccurate to say rushed, or lunged, but there really isn’t a verb in the human language that describes Vince’s actions. He was so swift that I couldn’t even see. In short, he and Ruiz collided like two asteroids. If I didn’t understand what the hell a shockwave was before, I did now.
In an attempt to fight back, Ruiz threw Liz and Nellie away, and they both flew a long way, each crashing into a car. In the parking lot, the burglar alarms immediately went up and down in a chorus of noise.Vince and Ruiz swept across the field as two hurricanes, one black, one …… uh …… colored ……
For a few brief moments, I caught the two of them writhing, teeth bared, grinning demonstrating to each other, and sometimes Lutz’s canines were so close to Vince’s neck that my heart couldn’t help but screw up.
The front hood of a car sank in, as if flattened by an invisible foot, and the windshield of another car shattered into a spider web ……
“Oh! Oh my God!” I stood frozen in place, clutching my head, repeating the words over and over again, the same as a fan watching his favorite team go down in flames.
Nelly took advantage of the gap between Vince’s fight with ‘his parents’ to get his recovery, he got up and ran towards Liz. Lutz, of course, doesn’t let him get away with it, and he cuts him off, swinging his sharp nails at him.
Vince thrust himself between the two, and in that moment, Ruiz suddenly withdrew his arm, his figure disappeared, and then, the next instant, a hideous grinning face appeared before my eyes.
Those golden eyes, as if they were a pair of black holes, zoomed rapidly in front of me, and I felt my consciousness flow out of my brain uncontrollably. A pair of icy arms tackled me and snapped onto my back. White canines, like two rows of chilling daggers, closed in on me, pressing the whole thing down.
Run away! You’ve got to get away!My insides screamed, but my feet were shaking in place ……
Everything came to a screeching halt as Ruiz gave a short call, his golden j□j eyes and fangs gone. Vince grabbed him by the back of the neck at the last minute, ripping him away from me and flinging him to the ground. Ruiz fell that hard, rubbing a deep groove into the concrete. He j-j-j-jiggled in agony.
“Lyle!” Vince shouted at me.
I couldn’t speak, my body was overrun with fear, and as my heartbeat returned to my body, I felt myself lying on my back, my limbs stiff and drenched in cold sweat.
“I’m okay ……,” I said in a muffled voice.
Vince nodded, “Go.” I heard him say.
He turned back to Ruiz. Ruiz climbed to his feet, clearly enraged by the blow he had just received, his exploding head was ruined and now looked more like a lion’s mane, and he, himself, looked like a raging lion. He slammed into Vince like a madman, and the two of them crashed into a pickup truck together. There was a loud noise, and at least seven or eight cars were squashed in the impact.
Perhaps one car’s gas tank ruptured, “Boom deer, a black cloud wrapped in roaring flames rose into the air.
I had just gotten to my feet when I was tipped over again by the air currents. I looked to the center of the licking tongues of fire.
“Vince!” God, or maybe that should be Satan? Well, the vampire God is keeping him safe, anyway!
Two seconds, two long seconds.
“Go, Lyle, understand?” I heard his voice, and as the smoke rolled by, I caught a glimpse of him. He had to be at least thirty feet away from me, yet I felt like his face was right in front of me, that I could reach out and touch like that.
Time slowed down, just like in the movies, very, very slowly. I could clearly see his green eyes glowing and sparkling, “Do you need a dictionary or something?” As he spoke, his breath seemed to brush gently against my cheek.
His commands always had a magical effect on me. I really wasn’t a warrior, on the contrary, I was perhaps even more cowardly and inferior than most, but when Vince commanded me to do something, however whimsical, in his unquestioning voice, it was as if I was hypnotized into ignoring it and going ahead with it, and in the end, it often worked. This made me reflect on whether I should put aside my forethought and calculations and just listen to that urging voice in my heart.
At the time, I did just that.
“No defeating!” I shouted at him. Pulling out the keys, I crossed over the messy battlefield to find Vince’s car. Start, reverse, steer …… Hey, if I had played this well on my driver’s license test I wouldn’t have failed it five times. I blasted the gas furiously as I reached down and opened the back door.
“Get in!”
It was a good eighty yards past Nellie, but I knew that he could do it. And he did manage it. With a clank, the car door closed. I took him and Liz and sped off.
Behind us, the smoke and sparks left by the explosion were still undulating and churning.
