Passive Voice - Chapter 1

“So when the past participle phrase is used as a gerund or determiner …… there is no be verb in the passive voice …… for example …… “Lu Yao was writing furiously on the blackboard when she suddenly heard the sound of her cell phone vibrating as she placed it on the podium.
“Let’s dismiss the class first.” The class bell rang just as Lu Yao’s words fell.
“Teacher Lu, that tense change you just talked about …… I still don’t understand it very well ……” A few girls in sailor dresses surrounded them with their delicate notebooks, and whispered playfully, and Every now and then, they pushed the loam a few times.
Lu Yao pushed the glasses on the bridge of her nose and apologized with a gentle voice, “I’ll talk about it in detail in the next class, so ask questions if you don’t understand it, right?”
Not only was Lu Yao’s voice gentle, the contours of her features were also soft. When he smiled slightly his lips curved into an understanding arc. In terms of a high-risk profession like college teachers, it was the kind of looks that could easily spark a little girl’s pursuit.
A few girls were slightly frustrated for a moment, then a bolder one handed over a piece of paper, “It’s almost time for the final exams, can Mr. Lu leave a cell phone number for us, if there are any problems ……”
“I’ll always be at school until the exams,” Lu Yao organizes her lesson plan and picks up her cell phone, “You’re always welcome to come to the office if you have any questions. I still have some things to do, so I’ll see you next Monday.” With that, he walked out of the classroom.
A few girls complained to each other, “I shouldn’t have been so bold, he must be angry” or something like that. Then they started whispering about when they were going to “ask questions” again. Then a burst of laughter erupted.
Lu Yao heard the girls’ clear laughter in the hallway, and while lamenting that girls nowadays are really precocious, she looked up the news she just received.
“It’s rumored that it’s cooling down over there. Wear more. Chu Zhi Han.”
Lu Yao smoothly deleted the text message. Then she slipped her cell phone back into her pocket.
Chu Zhi Han was an alumnus of Lu Yao’s high school days. She wasn’t even in the same class. After graduation, they each went to different cities. But the strange thing is that they have always kept in touch. This kind of contact is nothing more than Chu Zhi Han’s unilateral gesture of goodwill. For example, the text message when the weather changes, the phone call on New Year’s holidays, and even the special products sent by the travelers.
Lu Yao usually replied politely with a thank you. Later on, he would be too lazy to reply as a matter of course.
Anyway, Chu Zhi Han would always go to great lengths to find him.
Lu Yao frowned slightly when he returned to his office. He was disgusted by the strong smell of perfume. The English Teaching and Research Team’s girl scout had just returned from sweeping the mall, and her body was scented with at least 10 different brands of different fragrances.
He opened the window with a black face. Then sat down at his desk. Starting to calculate where to go to solve the dinner problem after work.
“Mr. Lu, let’s go eat and sing together after work?” Zhou Xiaoduo, known as one of the four golden flowers of the English group, came over.
Lu Yao slightly sidestepped, “Ah, I, I still have some things to do. You guys go ahead. Have fun.” He wasn’t stupid enough to lock himself in a cramped box with a bunch of chemical aromatics for a couple of hours, and then finally pretend to be dashing to pay the bill.
“How come Mr. Lu is so unforgiving every time ah ……,” Zhou Xiaoduo wrinkled her small, full nose that had just been straightened quite a bit mournfully.
“No no, there’s really something, next time, next time.” Lu Yao snorted to muddle through.
“Teacher Lu doesn’t have a girlfriend, right?” Chen, who came to visit from the language group on one side, smiled with a treacherous face, “Otherwise how could he be unavailable for every appointment?”
“She’s the one who sent the pastries last time, right? Still in a long-distance relationship? When will you let us see her in real life?” The girly men on one side of the room began to clamor.
“If there is one, how can it escape your eyes? I still rely on you all to solve my personal problems.” Lu Yao thought to himself, “If I let you guys know that you usually eat from a man, you might not know how to flirt with me.
