Passive Voice - Chapter 5

Although Lu Yao had a few points of dissatisfaction. But Chu Zhi Han was after all a friend who had been taking care of him for so long. His anger subsided very quickly. But if he had been tricked like this more than ten years ago, I’m afraid that he would have carried Chu Zhi Han out of the door on a rainy day and beaten the dust out of him.
“You, you’re still like this.” Lu Yao took a sip of beer, “It’s good to have achievements, if you’re a brother you should take it out and share it.”
Chu Zhi Han ate a mouthful of light vegetables, “Didn’t mean to hide it from you, sorry about that. Just don’t want to cause you trouble.”
“Which would be a bother, it should be to be happy for you.” Lu Yao felt like her jaw was going to dislocate if she kept up this patterned smile.
“It’s good that you understand.” Chu Zhi Han lowered his head and then muffled his words.
“It’s also rare that you’re here, I don’t have much to do this afternoon, so I can show you around.” Lu Yao tried to mobilize the atmosphere to be more active, “It’s you, don’t you have anything scheduled for the afternoon?”
“No.” Chu Zhi Han played with the chopsticks in her hand, “After I finish that project you guys are working on here at City Hall, I really do have half a month off.” After a pause, “I’m not lying to you.”
Lu Yao listened to his somewhat childish defense and felt slightly guilty, thinking about it, if he came because of his work but hid it from himself, there was absolutely no need to spend all that extra gas money and tolls to personally drive all the way over.
“I don’t have this meaning ah ……” Lu Yao panicked and held up his glasses, “free time just can go to play it.”
Chu Zhi Han “hmm”, lowered his head to drink soup.
For a moment the temperature dropped quite a bit. It was as if Lu Yao was the culprit for this situation.
“Let’s go to the beach,” Lu Yao tried to stabilize her emotions that were on the verge of breaking down, “There’s not much to see here, but the ocean is something you’ve always wanted to see, right?”
Chu Zhi Han lifted her head to look at him, her eyes seemed to have a bit of surprise in them, “Good.”
It was already past one in the afternoon when the two drove to the beach. The ordinary sea stalls, coupled with the fact that it was already winter, there were not many travelers on the beach. Not even a single seabird or anything. There were only some children playing lawlessly in the distance.
The sea breeze blew Lu Yao a little shivering, Chu Zhi Han is very interested in the wind mouth of the jade tree in the wind. The thoughtful look made Lu Yao too embarrassed to speak up and say let’s sit back in the car.
“Although I often travel to seaside cities when I’m working, I always feel like I’ve only seen the sea twice in my life.” Chu Zhi Han reached out his hand to take Lu Yao’s shoulder, a little rare impassioned, “The first time I saw the sea I thought, I want to build a house for her by the sea.”
Lu Yao smiled stiffly, “En, it’s great that people have dreams.” He only wore a thin jacket, shit, I should have put on that down jacket if I knew I was going out in the morning.
Chu Zhi Han put down his hand, “Oh, you are just like this, listening to words can never hear the point.” Saying that, she looked at Lu Yao’s frozen red nose, “Let’s go back.”
Lu Yao thought to herself, “Hey, I can’t hear the point, but I didn’t pick up on your dream lover’s words, if I did, God knows how long I’d have to stand here in this hellhole?
Back when Chu Zhihan a little hesitant to stand downstairs, “Oh, today was going to want to find a hotel ……”.
Lu Yao had to go along with the steps he gave and said, “It’s okay, we’ll squeeze in one more night, just one more pair of chopsticks for one more person.”
In the days that followed, this topic was brought up countless times with care, and was extinguished countless times in a dignified manner.
For a few more days after that, no one brought it up.
Chu Zhi Han was quite the homebody. I don’t know if it was because she was in a profession that had something to do with houses. Every morning he gets up, buys breakfast, waits for Lu Yao to get up, washes up and finishes eating, then sends him out, then goes out for a drive or “looks for inspiration”, and then picks up Lu Yao from work at the end of the day, so the two of them can find a small restaurant to have a meal or go home to cook instant noodles.
Slowly, Lu Yao found this life a bit strange.
Knowing that Zhou Xiaoduo couldn’t help but yell, “Mr. Lu, you’re just like being adopted! You’re so lucky! If you were a woman, you’d be married!”
It was only then that Lu Yao felt that it was time to reflect on her recent life.
